Hood Latch Release Cable: Service and Repair

HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

CAUTION:  Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt
pretensioner activation. 

2. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER  

3. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY 

a. w/ Hood courtesy switch: Disconnect the connector. 
b. Remove the 3 bolts. 

c. Disconnect the cable and remove the lock. 

4. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUBASSEMBLY 

a. Detach the 3 claws and remove the lever. 
b. Disconnect the cable.
