a. Connect the intelligent tester (with CAN VIM) to the DLC3.
b. Turn the ignition switch ON.
c. Check for DTCs by following the prompts on the tester screen.

Use the table to help determine the cause of the problem symptom. The potential causes of the symptoms are listed in order of probability in the
"Suspected Area" column of the table. Check each symptom by checking the suspected areas in the order they are listed. Replace parts as
necessary.

Check Passenger Air Bag ON/OFF Indicator

CHECK PASSENGER AIRBAG ON/OFF INDICATOR

a. Turn the ignition switch ON.
b. Check that the passenger airbag ON/OFF indicators come on for approximately 4 seconds, then go off for approximately 2 seconds.

HINT:  Refer to the table in the previous step regarding the passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator when approximately 6 seconds have lapsed after
the ignition switch is turned to the ON position.
