Water Pump: Service and Repair
Removal

3UR-FE COOLING: WATER PUMP: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER See: Engine/Engine Lubrication/Engine Oil/Service and Repair/Replacement
2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT See: Coolant/Service and Repair
3. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Engine/Intake Manifold/Service and Repair/Removal
4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY

(a) Loosen the hose clamp and disconnect the air cleaner from the air cleaner hose.
(b) Loosen the 2 bolts and remove the air cleaner with the grommet.

5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the No. 2 ventilation hose.
(b) Disconnect the vacuum hose.
(c) Loosen the hose clamp and remove the air cleaner hose.

6. REMOVE INLET RADIATOR HOSE See: Radiator/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Removal
7. DISCONNECT OUTLET RADIATOR HOSE See: Radiator/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Removal
8. REMOVE FAN SHROUD (w/ Trailer Towing System) See: Radiator/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Removal
9. REMOVE FAN SHROUD (w/o Trailer Towing System) See: Radiator/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Removal

10. DISCONNECT WATER BY-PASS PIPE HOSE (w/ Trailer Towing System) See: Engine/Engine Lubrication/Oil Cooler/Service and

Repair/Removal and Replacement/Removal

11. DISCONNECT NO. 3 AIR INJECTION SYSTEM HOSE See: Thermostat/Service and Repair/Removal
12. DISCONNECT NO. 2 AIR INJECTION SYSTEM HOSE See: Thermostat/Service and Repair/Removal
13. SEPARATE AIR PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Thermostat/Service and Repair/Removal
14. DISCONNECT NO. 5 WATER BY-PASS HOSE See: Thermostat/Service and Repair/Removal
15. REMOVE NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

(a) Disconnect the No. 1 water by-pass hose from the water by-pass joint and water inlet housing.

16. REMOVE INLET WATER HOUSING
