NOTE: When disconnecting the cable some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected See: Testing and
Inspection/Programming and Relearning.
3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Engine Lubrication/Engine Oil/Service and
Repair/Replacement
4. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM See: Service and Repair
5. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (for 3UR-FE) See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Coolant/Service and Repair
6. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (for 2UZ-FE) See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Coolant/Service and Repair
7. REMOVE COOLER REFRIGERANT LIQUID PIPE B
(a) Remove the bolt, and slide the hook connector.
(b) Disconnect the suction pipe and liquid pipe.
NOTICE:
-
Do not use a screwdriver or similar tool to disconnect the pipe.

Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.
(c) Remove the 2 O-rings from the suction pipe and liquid pipe.
8. REMOVE HEATER WATER INLET HOSE A
(a) Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to disconnect the water hose.
NOTICE:
-
Do not apply excessive force to the rear heater outlet water hose.

Prepare a drain pan or cloth in case the coolant leaks.
