HINT:  Use the same procedure as the LH side.

5. REMOVE REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the bolt and rear differential carrier assembly.
(b) Support the rear differential with a jack.
(c) Slowly lower the jack, and remove the rear differential carrier.

Installation

AXLE AND DIFFERENTIAL: REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a jack, slowly raise the rear differential carrier assembly to its installation position.

(b) Temporarily install the 6 bolts.
(c) Tighten the 4 bolts in order, from A to D.

Torque: 120 Nm (1224 kgf-cm, 89 ft-lbf)

Using hexagon wrench, tighten the 2 bolts order, E to F.

Torque: 200 Nm (2039 kgf-cm, 148 ft-lbf)

2. INSTALL REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH  See: Drive Axles, Bearings and Joints/Axle Shaft Assembly/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Rear Drive Shaft Assembly/Installation

3. INSTALL REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY RH

HINT:  Use the same procedure as the LH side.

4. INSTALL PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 4WD)  See: Drive/Propeller Shafts, Bearings and Joints/Drive/Propeller Shaft/Service and

Repair/Removal and Replacement/Propeller Shaft Assembly/Installation

5. INSTALL PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 2WD)  See: Drive/Propeller Shafts, Bearings and Joints/Drive/Propeller Shaft/Service and

Repair/Removal and Replacement/Propeller Shaft Assembly/Installation

6. ADD DIFFERENTIAL OIL See: Fluid - Differential/Service and Repair
7. INSPECT FOR OIL LEAK
