(d) Select hole snap rings of the correct thickness to make dimensions A and B the same.

Hole Snap Ring Thickness:

-

Use new snap rings.

-

If possible, use snap rings of the same thickness for both edges.

(e) Insert the universal joint spider into the universal joint flange yoke, and then using SST, press in the universal joint spider bearing into the snap

ring groove.

SST: 09332-25010

NOTE:  When pressing in the universal joint spider bearing, be careful not to damage its lip.
HINT:  Use the same installation procedure for the universal joint spider bearing on the opposite side.

(f) Using needle-nose pliers, install new hole snap rings into the snap ring grooves of the yoke.

2. INSPECT PROPELLER SHAFT GREASE FITTING DIRECTION

HINT:  When replacing a spider bearing, be sure that the grease fitting hole is facing the direction shown in the illustration.
