(a) Using SST, remove the front drive shaft assembly.

SST: 09520-24010
09520-32040
SST: 09520-01010

NOTE:  Be careful not to damage the differential oil seal, inboard joint boot and drive shaft dust cover.

Installation

DRIVE SHAFT / PROPELLER SHAFT: FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY

(a) Coat the spline of the inboard joint shaft assembly with gear oil.

(b) Align the shaft splines and install the drive shaft with a brass bar and hammer.

NOTE:  Be careful not to damage the differential oil seal, inboard joint boot and drive shaft dust cover.

Set the inboard joint shaft snap ring with the opening side facing downward.

Whether the inboard joint shaft is in contact with the pinion shaft or not can be confirmed from the sound or feeling when driving it.

2. INSTALL STEERING KNUCKLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the steering knuckle assembly See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Front Steering Knuckle/Service and Repair/Installation.

3. ADD FRONT DIFFERENTIAL OIL See: Differential Assembly/Fluid - Differential/Service and Repair
4. INSPECT FOR FRONT DIFFERENTIAL OIL LEAK
