This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from
the vehicle's in-service date.

Parts Information

Countermeasure service parts are identified by the 5-digit date code located on the upper portion of intermediate shaft, just above the rubber grommet.
Date code is 3Y05A, or last 2 numbers greater than 05.

NOTE:

To order Dow Corning BR-2 Plus Multi-Purpose E.R Grease, contact Applied Industrial Technologies at (518) 427-5800. One tube can be used for
multiple repairs.

Repair Procedure: Steering Pop or Click Noise

Prior to removing the steering intermediate shaft, be sure the steering wheel and front wheels will not turn. Once the intermediate shaft is removed, the
steering wheel may spin freely and become out of time with the steering rack.
