If operation is not as specified, replace the front seat outer belt assembly.

(b) Install the retractor with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 42 Nm (430 kgf-cm, 31ft-lbf)

(c) Install the shoulder anchor with the nut.

Torque: 42 Nm (430 kgf-cm, 31ft-lbf)

(d) Install the floor anchor with the bolt.

Torque: 42 Nm (430 kgf-cm, 31ft-lbf)

(e) Install the floor anchor cover.
(f) Check the ELR lock.

NOTICE:  The check should be performed with the assembly installed.
(1) Check that the belt locks when pulling out the belt quickly when the belt is installed.

If operation is not as specified, replace the front seat outer belt assembly.

(g) Check the fastening function of the child restraint system.

NOTICE:  The check should be performed with the assembly installed.
(1) Check that the belt cannot be pulled out any more but can be rewound after the belt is fully pulled out.
(2) Check that the belt can be pulled out and rewound after the belt is fully rewound.

If operation is not as specified, replace the front seat outer belt assembly.

5. INSTALL FRONT DOOR WEATHERSTRIP
6. INSTALL REAR DOOR WEATHERSTRIP
7. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE
8. INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE
9. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY

10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

HINT:  Some systems need initialization when disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal.

DISPOSAL

1. DISPOSE OF FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY (WHEN INSTALLED IN VEHICLE)

NOTICE:
-

Never dispose of a front seat outer belt assembly with an deactivated pretensioner.

-

The seat belt pretensioner produces an exploding sound when it activates, so perform the operation outdoors where it will not create a
nuisance to nearby residents.

-

When activating a front seat outer belt assembly (with a seat belt pretensioner), perform the operation at least 10 m (33 ft) away from the
front seat outer belt.

-

Use gloves and safety glasses when handling a front seat belt with an activated pretensioner.

-

Always wash your hands with water after completing the operation.

-

Do not apply water, etc. to a front seat outer belt assembly with an activated pretensioner.

-

When activating the seat belt pretensioner, always use the specified SST (SRS airbag deployment tool). Perform the operation in a place
away from electrical interference.

HINT:  When scrapping vehicles equipped with a seat belt pretensioner or disposing of a front seat outer belt (with a seat belt pretensioner),
always activate the seat belt pretensioner first in accordance with the procedures described below. If any abnormality occurs during activation
of the seat belt pretensioner, contact the SERVICE DEPT. of the DISTRIBUTOR.

(a) Disconnect the cable from negative battery terminal.

CAUTION:  Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag working  See: Air Bag Systems/Service
Precautions.

(b) Check the function of SST.
