Low Tire Pressure Indicator: Service and Repair

PRE-CHECK

HINT: When the warning light lights up, immediately check the air pressure of the tire and adjust it to the specified pressure. It the vehicle is driven at
more 18 mph (30 km/h) after adjustment, the warning light goes off.

In the following cases, system might not operate normally.

-

When the tire out of specification and tires with different size or type are used all together.

-

When extremely worn tire is found among 4 tires.

-

When the compact spare tire or snow tire is used and tire chains are wound.

-

When using the tire with the air pressure extremely higher than the specified and the air pressure becomes acutely low due to burst during driving.

-

When the vehicle is driven on the extremely rough or slippery frozen road.

1. INSPECT TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT OPERATION

When the ignition switch is turned ON, check that the tire pressure warning light goes on for 3 seconds. 

HINT: If the indicator check result is not normal, proceed to troubleshooting for the tire pressure warning light circuit.

2. INSPECT ABS SPEED SENSOR

3. INSPECT TIRE PRESSURE WARNING STANDARDIZATION SWITCH OPERATION (CHECK MODE)

a. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
b. Using SST,connect terminals Ts and E1 of DLC1. SST 09843-18020
c. Start the engine.

d. Check that the ABS warning light blinks.

HINT: If the ABS warning light does not blink, inspect the ABS warning light circuit.
