'98- '00 Sienna

Introduction 
The (A540E) transaxle used in 1998 - 2000 model year Sienna vehicles incorporates a speed sensor housing on the differential cover. However, no speed
sensor is used in the United States. There is a plastic plug installed by the plant to cover the hole, which is for shipping purposes only. If the transaxle is
installed with this plastic plug, fluid pressure will push it out of the hole, causing automatic transmission fluid to leak.

Parts Information

Replacement Procedure

When installing a new transaxle (P/N 30500-45010), remove the Cover Sub-Assembly  (P/N 33403-20250) from the original transaxle for installation on
the replacement transaxle.

NOTE:

Remanufactured transaxles already have the Speed Sensor Cover Sub-Assembly installed.

NOTE:

When replacing this transaxle, save the Speed Sensor Cover Sub-Assembly for installation on the new transaxle.
