Repair Procedure

1.

Follow repair manual diagnostics for applicable DTC (P0748, P0798, P0985 or P0986). Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS) 2004
model year Solara Repair Manual: Diagnostics: SFI system: P0748 or P0798 or P0985 or P0986.

2.

If circuit tests OK per repair manual - replace the ECM (PCM).

NOTE:

Following ECM (PCM) replacement, the vehicle will not start until the ECM (PCM) Communication ID Registration is completed. To register
the ECM (PCM) Communication ID, refer to the Technical Information System (TIS) 2004 model year Solara Repair Manual: Diagnostics:
Engine Immobilizer System: Registration: ECU Communication ID Registration.
