Steering Angle Sensor: Service and Repair
Installation

BRAKE CONTROL: STEERING ANGLE SENSOR:

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL STEERING ANGLE SENSOR

(a) Align the locating pins, engage the claws, and install the steering angle sensor to the spiral cable.

2. INSTALL SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY WITH STEERING ANGLE SENSOR (See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Clockspring

3. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER (See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering Column/Service and Repair/Installation)

4. INSTALL STEERING LOWER COLUMN COVER (See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering Column/Service and Repair/Installation)

5. ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE (See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Clockspring Assembly / Spiral Cable/Service and Repair/Installation)

6. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY (See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering Column/Service and Repair/Installation)

7. INSPECT STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT (See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering Column/Service and Repair/Installation)

8. INSTALL STEERING PAD (See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Air Bag/Service and Repair/Steering Pad/Installation)

9. INSTALL NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER (See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Air Bag/Service and Repair/Steering

10. INSTALL NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER (See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Air Bag/Service and Repair/Steering

Pad/Installation)

11. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.  (See: Testing and

12. INSPECT STEERING PAD (See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Air Bag/Service and Repair/Steering Pad/Installation)

13. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
