TITLE VALVE BODY MODIFICATION ON A340E/H
To reduce Reverse gear to Neutral shift shock on vehicles equipped with the A340E/H transmission, an additional rubber check ball has been
incorporated in the upper valve body as shown below.
When installing the additional rubber check ball in the upper valve body, TMS recommends that on early production (85-87 RN, 861/2-87 MA7 #)
transmissions, all (B) type steel check balls be replaced with new (B) type rubber check balls (see PART NUMBER INFORMATION section of this
bulletin). Check ball quantity and diameter are identified in the table below.
