Condenser Fan: Testing and Inspection
ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
1. INSPECT COOLING FANS OPERATION
Inspect the cooling fans operation, as shown in the chart.
Test condition:
-
Ignition switch ON
-
Blower switch HI
If operation is not as specified, proceed next inspection.
2. INSPECT COOLING FAN MOTORS OPERATION
a. Disconnect the cooling fan connector.
b. Connect battery and ammeter.
c. Check that the cooling fan rotates smoothly, and then check that the reading on the ammeter.
Standard amperage:
Condenser Fan: 6.7 ± 0.7 A
Radiator Fan: 3.5 ± 1.0 A
If operation is not as specified, replace the fan motor.
If operation is as specified, inspect each part of the cooling fan system.
