b. Recheck total preload.

Install rack ends as follows:
a. Install a new claw washer.
b. Using variable open wrench tool No. 09922-10010 or equivalent, install rack ends; use torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 13.39 inch.
c. Using a brass bar and a hammer, stake claw washers.

Install rack boots as follows:
a. Ensure tube hole is not clogged with grease. If tube hole is clogged, pressure inside boot will change after it is assembled and steering wheel is

turned.

b. Install boots. Ensure not to damage or twist boots.
c. Install clips and clamps.

Screw locknuts and tie rod ends onto rack ends until matchmarks are aligned. After adjusting toe-in, torque locknut to specifications.

17.

Install right and left turn pressure tubes as follows:
a. Install new O-rings to tube.
b. Using power steering hose nut wrench tool No. 09633-0020 or equivalent, install and torque tubes to specifications; use torque wrench with a

fulcrum length of 11.81 inch.

c. Install turn pressure tube bracket.
