Hood - Reducing Vibration/Flutter

REDUCING HOOD SHEET METAL VIBRATION/FLUTTER

To reduce hood vibration/flutter on T100, apply quick drying 3M Brand Ultrapro Seam Sealer (Urethane Adhesive), or equivalent, between the hood
panel and support braces.

CLEANING PROCESS:

Since urethane adhesives will only adhere to clean surfaces, it is essential to remove under-hood residue with a wax, grease and silicone remover
(available from major paint suppliers).

Be sure to read the "how to use" instructions on the label very carefully since misuse of this type of product may lead to adhesion problems.

APPLICATION OF MASTIC MATERIAL:

Insert the adhesive tube into the caulking gun and cut-off tip.

To avoid the necessity of repainting the underside of the hood, apply only small spots of adhesive material (about the size of a dime) to the 6
locations shown in the illustration.

IMPORTANT 
apply no more than 6 small spots of adhesive to the specified areas. If additional material is applied or it is applied in a ribbon-like fashion, a
wrinkling or buckling of the sheet metal may occur.

Note:

Proper application places the majority of the material between the hood sheet metal and the hood brace (away from the edge of the hood brace).
