2. Visually inspect timing belt tensioner for excessive oil leakage. Replace as necessary.

3. Hold the tensioner with both hands and push the rod firmly against the floor or wall to check that it does not move. If it moves, replace the

tensioner.

4. Measure the protusion of the push rod from the housing end, should be 10.0 - 10.5 mm (0.394 - 0.413 in). If not as specified, replace the tensioner.

5. Using a 10mm hexagon wrench, install the plate washer and idler pulley with the pivot bolt. Torque to 34 Nm (25 ft.lbs).
6. Make sure the pulley bracket moves smoothly.

7. Using the crank pulley bolt, turn the crankshaft and align the timing marks of the crankshaft timing pulley and oil pump body.
8. Remove any oil and/or water on the crankshaft timing pulley and water pump pulley.
