Fuel Pressure Control Solenoid: Testing and Inspection

1. REMOVE VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE (VSV) ASSEMBLY.

with EGR:

-

Disconnect the 2 connectors and 4 vacuum hoses, and remove the 2 bolts and VSV assembly.

without EGR:

-

Disconnect the connector and 2 vacuum hoses, and remove the 2 bolts and VSV assembly.

2. INSPECT VSV.

-

Inspect VSV for open circuit.

-

Using an ohmmeter, check that there is continuity between the terminals.

Resistance:At 20°C (68°F): 33 - 39 Ohm)

-

If there is no continuity, replace the VSV.

-

Inspect VSV for ground.

-

Using an ohmmeter, check that there is no continuity between each terminal and the body.

-

If there is continuity, replace the VSV.

-

Inspect VSV operation
