4X4 TACOMA DRIVELINE COMPONENT CHANGES

To optimize driving smoothness at highway speeds, the following production changes have been implemented on '96 Tacoma 4WD models:

1.

Goodyear 31x1O.5R15 LT "Wrangler" tires - tread pitch sequence of tread reconfigured.

2.

# 3 Cab Mounts - lateral spring rate reduced (Xtracab models only).

3.

Driveshaft - rotational balance improved.

PROCEDURE:

Should a customer complaint be encountered for cyclic body or driveline vibration at highway speeds, on '95 4WD models equipped with original
Goodyear 31x10.5R15 "Wrangler" tires, the following procedure is recommended:

A.

Check to ensure proper tire inflation pressure (26psi front & 29psi rear) and balance.

B.

Test drive vehicle under same operating conditions described by customer to verify actual vibration complaint.

C.

If vibration is confirmed, refer to TMS Warranty Procedures Bulletin No. PRO 96-22, covering requirements for DSM claim authorization,
acquisition & cost of updated replacement tires, procedure for warranty claim submission, and instructions for return of all replaced parts.

D.

After receiving authorization for repair, replace original components with updated production parts as indicated below:

Goodyear 31x10.5R 15LT "Wrangler" tires.

Acquisition of improved tires must be coordinated between Toyota dealers and Goodyear retail outlets directly.

Toyota dealers should not refer Tacoma customers to Goodyear outlets for tire replacement
