Tacoma Extra Cab 2WD L4-2438cc 2.4L DOHC MFI (1997)
Installation Hint: Torque to 26 Nm (19 ft. lbs.)
4. Remove U-bolts.
a. Remove the 4 U-bolt mounting nuts.
b. Remove the spring seat, cushion and cushion retainer.
c. Remove the U-bolts.
Installation Hint: Tighten the U-bolts so that the length of all the U-bolts under the spring seat are the same. Torque to 123 Nm (90 ft. lbs.)
5. Remove leaf spring.
a. Remove the nut, washer and hanger pin bolt.
Installation Hint: After stabilizing the suspension, torque the nut to 157 Nm (116 ft. lbs.)
b. Remove the 2 shackle pin mounting nuts.
Installation Hint: After stabilizing the suspension, torque the nut to 92 Nm (67 ft lbs.).
c. Remove the shackle pin and plate, and remove the rear leaf spring.
6. Remove spring bumper.
