Reinstall the plastic cowl cover and the wiper arms.

Confirmation Procedure for Lower Front Cowl Seam Leak

1.

Remove front fender from affected side of vehicle.

2.

Locate the lower front cowl seam through the two access holes in the side member and wet area with Toyota Glass Cleaner. Refer to Figure 3 for
location of the access holes and lower front cowl seam.

NOTE:

Soapy water can be substituted for Toyota Glass Cleaner.

Turn the blower motor to the High setting and the air intake to Fresh and close all doors and windows on vehicle.

4.

Carefully, inspect the lower front cowl seam area for air bubbles. Confirm that the front cowl area and the lower front cowl area are thoroughly wet
and the cab is sealed completely.

If air bubbles are present, the lower front cowl seam leak has been confirmed.

If NO air bubbles are present, repeat steps 1-3.

Repair Procedure for Lower Front Cowl Seam Leak

1.

If a lower front cowl seam water leak has been confirmed, locate the lower front cowl seam through the access holes and clean with Kent
Acrysol(TM) (or equivalent). Follow the directions on the side of the can carefully.

2.

Dry open seam with compressed air prior to applying sealer.

3.

Apply a small bead of seam sealer to the entire lower front cowl seam.

4.

Allow the seam sealer to dry according to the instructions on the package.

5.

Once the seam sealer has dried, flood the cowl area with water to confirm that there are no lower front cowl seam leaks in the cab (refer to Figure
3 for flood location).

6.

Carefully inspect the inside cab behind the flooring carpet and the brake pedal linkage for evidence of water leakage during the water leak check.

If NO leaks are found, the lower front cowl seam area repair is complete.

If leaks are still present, make sure the entire seam is completely filled with seam sealer and retest with water.

Reinstall the front fender, plastic cowl cover, and wiper arms.
