7. REMOVE ENGINE REAR OIL SEAL

a. Using a cutter knife, cut off the lip of the oil seal.
b. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in tape, pry out the oil seal and remove it.

NOTICE:  Check the crankshaft for damage after removing the oil seal. If damaged, smooth the surface with 400-grit sandpaper.

8. INSTALL ENGINE REAR OIL SEAL

a. Apply a light coat of MP grease to the lip of a new oil seal.

NOTICE:  Keep the lip free of foreign objects.

b. Using SST and a hammer, tap the oil seal in until its surface is flush with the rear oil seal retainer edge.

SST 09223-15030, 09950-70010 (09951-07150)

NOTICE:

Do not tap the oil seal in at an angle.

Wipe any extra grease off the crankshaft.

9. INSTALL FLYWHEEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (MANUAL TRANSMISSION)

a. Clean the 10 bolts and 10 bolt holes.
b. Apply adhesive to 2 or 3 threads of the 10 bolts. Adhesive: Part No.08833-00070, THREE BOND 1324 or equivalent
c. Using SST, hold the crankshaft.
