Repair Procedure

1.

Confirm source of leak is the transmission extension housing seal (tailshaft seal Procedure assembly) and NOT another attached component, such
as the driveshaft yoke.

2.

Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS) to remove and replace the oil seal assembly:

Check fluid level.

4.

Road test and confirm that there is NO leak from the transmission extension housing seal.

Introduction 

Some 2005 and 2006 model year 2WD Sequoia, Tacoma (V6), and Tundra vehicles equipped with A750E transmission may display evidence of a
transmission fluid leak from the transmission extension housing seal (tailshaft seal assembly). Production and assembly countermeasures have been
implemented to eliminate this condition.

2005 - 2006 model year 2WD Sequoia, Tacoma (V6 only), and Tundra vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown
below.
