Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair
CONDENSER REMOVAL
1. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
INSTALLATION HINT: Evacuate air from refrigeration system.

See: Testing and Inspection/Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview/Leakage of Refrigerant
Charge system with refrigerant and inspect for leakage of refrigerant.
Specified amount:
600 ± 50 g (21.16 ± 1.76 oz.)
2. REMOVE THESE PARTS:
a. Radiator Grille
b. Hood Lock
c. Front Bumper Filler
3. DISCONNECT LIQUID TUBE AND DISCHARGE HOSE FROM CONDENSER FITTING
Torque:
Discharge hose: 10 N.m (100 kg.cm, 7 ft.lb)
Liquid tube: 14 N.m (140 kg.cm, 10 ft.lb)
REMOVAL NOTE: Cap open the fittings immediately to keep moisture out of the system.
INSTALLATION HINT: Lubricate 2 new O-rings with compressor oil and install the tubes.
4. REMOVE CONDENSER
a. Remove the liquid tube clamping bolt.
b. Remove the 2 condenser mounting bolts and pull out the condenser.
INSTALLATION HINT: If condenser was replaced, add compressor oil to the compressor.
Compressor oil:
Add 40 - 50 cc (1.4 - 1.7 fl.oz.)
ND-OIL 8 or equivalent
CONDENSER INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
