Neutral Safety Switch: Adjustments
A55 & A55F Automatic Transaxles
MANUAL SHIFT LINKAGE
1.
Inspect linkage for damage and wear, and repair as needed.
2.
Loosen nut securing connecting rod to floorshift selector lever.
3.
Push lever on transaxle fully rearward, then return lever 2 detents to the neutral position.
4.
Position floorshift selector lever at Neutral, and while pressing selector lightly toward Reverse, tighten nut securing connecting rod.

THROTTLE VALVE LINKAGE
1.
Remove air cleaner, inspect throttle lever and link bracket for damage and repair as needed.
2.
Fully depress accelerator pedal while observing throttle. If throttle fails to open fully, adjust accelerator linkage.
3.
Hold accelerator pedal in fully depressed position and observe throttle valve lever indicator, Fig. 1.
4.
If throttle valve lever indicator is not aligned with mark on case, adjust linkage length with turnbuckle.
5.
When lever indicator and mark on housing are aligned, tighten locknut on turnbuckle and recheck adjustment.
NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH
1.
Loosen neutral safety switch attaching bolt.
2.
Place transaxle selector lever in Neutral position.
3.
Disconnect neutral safety switch electrical connector, then connect a suitable ohmmeter between lower connector terminals.
4.
Adjust switch until continuity between terminals is 2-3 ohms, then reconnect electrical connector.
5.
Install attaching bolt, then torque to 9 ft. lbs.
