Brake Caliper: Service and Repair
Disassembly and Reassembly

1.

Remove caliper as described under REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.

2.

Remove anti-squeal shim(s) and cylinder boot set ring, Fig. 2.

3.

Remove cylinder boot, then remove piston using compressed air.

4.

Remove piston seal, caliper sliding bolt, dust boot, collar and union.

5.

Install union onto caliper and torque to 19-26 ft. lbs.

6.

Apply rubber grease to piston seal, then install piston seal onto piston.

7.

Apply rubber grease to piston, then install piston into caliper.

8.

Install cylinder boot and set ring, then lubricate collar and dust boot and assemble onto caliper.

9.

Install caliper sliding bolt and anti-squeal shim(s).
