Windows - Repair Procedure For Smoother Operation

FRONT DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR OPERATION
The following repair procedure should be utilized to obtain a smoother operation of the Tercel (EL42) manual front door window glass while opening
and closing.
REPAIR METHOD:
1.
With the window in the "Up" position, loosen the two equalizer arm bracket mounting bolts (see Figure 1) and allow the regulator assembly to
relax and reposition itself. Tighten the equalizer arm bracket mounting bolts. Cycle the glass up and down to determine if the operation is
acceptable.
2.
If the procedure above does not fully resolve the problem, roll the window down and remove the equalizer arm bracket mounting bolts. Using a
drill, slot the rear hole in the upward direction approximately 2 mm, as shown in Figure 2.
