Overdrive Solenoid: Testing and Inspection
1. Inspect O/D solenoid valve, as follows:
a. Disconnect the solenoid connector.
b. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between terminals 1 and 3.
Resistance: 11-15 ohms.
If the resistance is not as specified, replace the solenoid.
c. Apply battery positive voltage between terminals 1 and 3: At this time, confirm that a solenoid operation sound is heard. If the operation is not
as specified, replace the solenoid.
d. Connect the solenoid connector.
