(d) Check the clearance between the top of the left side tailpipe tip and the bottom edge of the truck bed, as shown in the illustration.

Clearance: 25 mm +/- 5 mm

(e) Check that the difference between the left and right side tailpipe tip to the bottom edge of the truck bed measurements are within i 5 mm of each

other.

NOTE:

To aid in clearance inspections, make a 25 mm cardboard template.

(f) If these clearances are out of specification, adjust the exhaust hanger mount for the left side tailpipe.

(g) Loosen the 2 bolts.

(h) Move the exhaust hanger up or down to adjust the clearance.

(i) Tighten the 2 bolts.

6. EXHAUST SYSTEM INSPECTION

(a) Recheck all clearance measurements.

(b) Inspect the exhaust system for any leaks.

(c) Inspect the brake system for proper operation if the brake hose was replaced.
