Reverse the order of the shock mounting cushions and reposition the middle retainer to the top of the gusset with the retainer hat and cushion hat
pointing down.

3.

Reassemble the shock assembly per TIS: 2004 or 2005 model year Tundra Repair Manual.

A.

Replace shock upper nut.

B.

Ensure that the new nut bottoms on the shock threads (minimum rod stick-out is 10 mm [0.39 in.]).

C.

Torque the nut to the following specifications.

Torque: 20 N.m (203 kgf.cm, 14.7 ft.lbf)
