Introduction 

The 2003 - 2004 Sequoia and Tundra rear axle assemblies have a synthetic fluid with special additives installed during assembly. Maintenance intervals
for the rear differential fluid have changed as a result.

Applicable Vehicles:

2003 - 2004 model year Sequoia and Tundra vehicles WITHOUT Limited Slip Differentials (LSD).

Use the charts below to determine proper inspection and replacement intervals for Toyota Genuine Synthetic Differential Gear Oil, Non-Toyota
Synthetic Differential Gear Oils and Mineral Differential Gear Oils.

NOTE:

Use under Special Operating Conditions is towing a trailer or driving with an installed camper or car top carrier on the vehicle during the vehicle's
use.

Inspection is confirmation of fluid level inside differential and visual check for contamination of gear oil by foreign substance(s).

NOTE:

Use of Non-Toyota Synthetic Differential Gear Oil or Mineral Differential Gear Oils in 2003 or later Tundra or Sequoia vehicles will require
following the service intervals of 2002 Tundra and Sequoia.
