Auxiliary Air Valve (Idle Speed): Description and Operation
Air Valve
The Air Valve, located on the underside of the air intake chamber, provides additional intake air around the throttle valve when the engine is cold. This
raises the engine idle speed until the engine can idle normally on its own. The Air Valve has a bi-metal strip that stays in contact with a heater coil. The
heater coil is powered up as long as the engine is running and keeps the Air Valve closed after engine warm up.
