Idle Speed: Adjustments
Curb Idle Speed

1. Confirm the following conditions:

a. Air cleaner installed
b. All pipes and hoses for the air intake system connected
c. All vacuum lines connected
d. EFI system wiring connectors fully plugged in
e. Engine at normal operating temperature
f.

Accessories all switched OFF

g. Transmission in Neutral

2. Disconnect the idle speed control VSV.
3. Connect a tachometer to the engine.

Connecting Tachometer

NOTE: Never allow the tachometer terminal to contact a ground as this could cause damage to the ignition system. Some tachometers are not

compatible with this ignition system, so please confirm the compatibility of your tachometer before connecting to vehicle.

4. Run the engine at 2500 rpm for approx. 2 minutes.
5. Set the idle speed by turning the Idle Speed Adjusting Screw.

Idle Speed:

M/T: 700 rpm
A/T: 750 rpm

6. Reconnect the Idle Speed VSV connector.
7. Remove the tachometer.
