1.

Inspect relay continuity as follows:
a. Using suitable ohmmeter, ensure continuity between terminals 1 and 3, Fig. 34.
b. Ensure no continuity between terminals 2 and 4.
c. Ensure no continuity between terminals 3 and 4.
d. If continuity is not as indicated, replace relay.

2.

Inspect relay operation as follows:
a. Apply battery voltage across terminals 1 and 3.
b. Ensure continuity between terminals 2 and 4.
c. Ensure no continuity between terminals 3 and 4.
d. If operation is not as indicated, replace relay.
