Brake Caliper: Service and Repair
Disassembly and Reassembly

On 2 wheel drive models, proceed as follows: 

1.

Remove caliper as described under "Caliper, Replace".

2.

Remove sliding bushing and boot.

3.

Remove main pin boot.

4.

Using compressed air, remove piston from caliper.

5.

Remove caliper boot and set ring from caliper.

6.

Reverse procedure to assemble. Bleed air from brake system.

On 4 wheel drive models, proceed as follows: 

1.

Remove caliper as described under "Caliper, Replace".

2.

Using hammer and chisel, remove main pin boot.

3.

Remove caliper set rings, then using compressed air, remove pistons from caliper bores. When removing pistons, ensure fingers are clear of
pistons.

4.

Remove boots from pistons, then using soft edged tool, seals from caliper bores.

5.

Reverse procedure to install. Apply suitable lithium soap based glycol grease to main pin boot, sliding bushing, sliding bushing boot, piston seals,
pistons and cylinder boots prior to assembly.
