Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair
Removal

HEATING / AIR CONDITIONING: CONDENSER: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:  When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected  See: Testing and
Inspection/Repair Instruction - Initialization.

2. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM See: Service and Repair
3. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL See: Body and Frame/Bumper/Front Bumper/Service and Repair/Removal
4. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE PROTECTOR See: Body and Frame/Grille/Service and Repair/Removal
5. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE See: Body and Frame/Grille/Service and Repair/Removal
6. REMOVE INLET NO. 2 AIR CLEANER See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine

Assembly/Removal

7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Throttle Body/Service and

Repair/Removal

8. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine

Assembly/Removal

9. REMOVE BATTERY See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal

10. REMOVE INLET NO. 1 AIR CLEANER See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine

Assembly/Removal

11. REMOVE LOW PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY See: Lighting and Horns/Horn/Service and Repair/Low Pitched Horn/Removal
12. REMOVE HIGH PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY See: Lighting and Horns/Horn/Service and Repair/High Pitched Horn/Removal
13. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY (w/o Engine Hood Courtesy Switch) See: Body and Frame/Doors, Hood and Trunk/Hood/Hood Latch

Release Cable/Service and Repair/Removal

14. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY (w/ Engine Hood Courtesy Switch) See: Body and Frame/Doors, Hood and Trunk/Hood/Hood Latch

Release Cable/Service and Repair/Removal

15. REMOVE HOOD LOCK SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage each clamp.

(b) Remove the 2 bolts and hood lock support support sub-assembly.
