Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair
Removal

1AR-FE ENGINE CONTROL: ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER
2. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER
3. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK

(a) Remove the windshield wiper motor and link See: Wiper and Washer Systems/Wiper Motor/Service and Repair/Front Wiper Motor/Removal.

4. REMOVE OUTER COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Steering and Suspension/Suspension/Suspension Strut / Shock

Absorber/Service and Repair/Front Shock Absorber/Removal

5. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Coolant/Service and Repair
6. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal

7. REMOVE NO. 1 VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY See: Emission Control Systems/Evaporative Emissions System/Canister Purge

Control Valve/Service and Repair/Removal

8. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Throttle Body/Service and Repair/Removal
9. REMOVE AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal

10. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine

Assembly/Removal

11. REMOVE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR

(a) Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.
