Thermostat: Service and Repair
Removal

2GR-FE COOLING: THERMOSTAT: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL RH

2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

3. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER

4. SEPARATE FRONT FENDER LINER RH

5. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON RH

6. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT   See: Coolant/Service and Repair

7. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT   See: Engine/Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and Repair/Removal

8. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY   See: Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal

9. DISCONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE

(a) Disconnect the No. 2 radiator hose from the water inlet.

10. REMOVE NO. 2 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY   See: Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Unit/Removal

11. REMOVE WATER INLET

(a) Remove the 2 nuts and water inlet.

12. REMOVE THERMOSTAT

(a) Remove the thermostat from the water inlet housing.

(b) Remove the gasket from the thermostat.
