Variable Valve Timing Actuator: Service and Repair
Removal

2GR-FE ENGINE CONTROL: CAMSHAFT OIL CONTROL VALVE: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

2. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER

3. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT   See: Cooling System/Coolant/Service and Repair

4. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the windshield wiper motor and link assembly    See: Wiper and Washer Systems/Wiper Motor/Service and Repair/Front Wiper

Motor/Removal.

5. REMOVE COWL TOP PANEL OUTER SUB-ASSEMBLY   See: Steering and Suspension/Suspension/Suspension Strut / Shock

Absorber/Service and Repair/Front Shock Absorber/Removal

6. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL   See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal

7. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY   See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal

8. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH HOSE   See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Throttle Body/Service and

Repair/Removal

9. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY   See: Intake Manifold/Service and Repair/Removal

10. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the bolt and disconnect the wire harness clamp to separate the engine wire.

(b) Disconnect the 4 oil control valve connectors.

(c) Remove the 4 bolts and 4 oil control valves.
