Initialization cannot be completed by only disconnecting and reconnecting the cable of the negative (-) battery terminal.

(a) Perform Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) registration    See: Testing and Inspection/Programming and Relearning/Repair Instruction -

Initialization.

(b) Register the ECM communication ID for the immobiliser system when replacing the ECM    See: Testing and Inspection/Programming and

Relearning/Repair Instruction - Initialization.

(c) Perform Initialization when replacing the ECM    See: Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Throttle Body/Service and Repair/Installation.
