1.

Remove the console box carpet.

2.

Loosen the two (2) mounting bolts and slide the console assembly forward as far as possible.

3.

Tighten the two (2) mounting bolts.

4.

Fully engage the parking brake.

5.

Measure the distance between the front of the boot and the console opening.

NOTE:

If clearance is MORE than 2.5 mm (0.1 in.), the repair is complete.

If this distance is LESS than 2.5 mm (0.1 in.), go to "Remove & replace brake dust boot" section of the Repair Procedure to replace the
parking brake dust boot.

Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

2.

Remove the instrument panel finish panel lower center.

3.

For manual transmission vehicles:

Remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly.
