Safety Measures:

-  Disconnect battery from vehicle electrical system.

-  Install ground cable of welding equipment immediately beside point to be welded.

-  Temperatures of above 80 ° C may result in damage to control units.

-  During removal/installation operations on the engine or transmission, ensure that all ground connections are correctly routed. If the engine is started although the ground connections are incomplete, the control units can be destroyed.

-  Wiring harnesses and cable channel which have to be loosened or removed during repair work should be reattached using original parts from the "Service" Department (cable ties, clips, cable channel holders or similar) to the original places. In the event of damage to the wiring harness, as far as possible the repair work should be performed in accordance with the brochure issued by the GMIO-Aftersales department "Wiring harness repair work KTA-1950, Issue of October 1997".

-  During welding work on the vehicle, the negative battery terminal should always be disconnected. The welding device's ground terminal should always be applied directly to the welding point. During welding work in the immediate vicinity of a control unit, remove the wiring harness plug and remove the control unit. During brazing and welding work on the door, the side airbag sensor should be removed.

-  Before disconnecting the vehicle battery on Vauxhall vehicles, disarm the Power Sounder: Disconnect the vehicle battery within 15 seconds of switching off the ignition.

-  If the battery was separated from the vehicle electrical system, any volatile memories should be reprogrammed. With radio encoding and transmitter programming, the customer should be informed of the decoding and the deleted special memory.
