Sprayable Seam Sealing for Body Repair Work

General Description

This section describes a new system for processing a universally applicable sprayable seam seal during body repair work. This system is a logical and economic supplement to the existing sealing methods.

The sprayable seam seal has the following performance features:

•  The appearance of the repaired seals is the same as that of standard seals

•  Good adhesion to metal, primed substrates and paints

•  Free of isocyanate, silicone and polyvinyl chloride (PVC)

•  Quick drying, ageing resistant, sound-deadening, abrasion-proof

•  Increased corrosion protection

•  Resistant to ultraviolet light

•  Good overpaintability

The sprayable seam seal is a solvent-containing polyester-based sealant paste which, on reaction with moisture, crosslinks to form a permanently flexible, hard wearing product. The drying time depends upon the atmospheric humidity, temperature and layer thickness.

The system consists of the sealing material 90 543 279 / 15 03 176 which is supplied in cartridges (310 mm) with replaceable nozzles. It is processed with the MKM-950 telescope pistol.

General Description (Continued)

The MKM-950 telescope pistol may also be used to process conventional 310 ml cartridges. A special union nut is enclosed for this (multi-functional use).

Always apply sprayable seam seal to primed substrates.

Object Number: 616201 Size: DEFAULT  Important!

If the sprayable seam seal is applied to substrates which have been treated with spot welding paint, zinc-rich paint and zinc spray, there may be a loss of adhesion.

Only apply sprayable seam seal to fully cured materials (sealing material, adhesive).
