Airbag System Safety Measures  as of MY '95.5

General

-   All operations on the airbag system may only be performed by franchised Opel/ Vauxhall dealers and authorised Opel/ Vauxhall Service Dealerships and only by trained personnel.

-   The telltale must illuminate when the ignition is switched on and extinguish after approx. 4 seconds.

-   There is a fault in the system if the telltale does not illuminate when the ignition is switched on.

-   If the telltale does not extinguish or illuminates while travelling, there is a fault in the airbag system.

It must then be assumed that the airbag system is no longer functional.

-   The airbag steering wheel may only be replaced by steering wheels approved by Opel/ Vauxhall.

-   The impact cushion of the steering wheel must not be cemented, covered or otherwise modified. It may only be cleaned with a dry or water-moistened cloth and with a cleaning agent approved by Opel/ Vauxhall.

-   The airbag does not replace the function of the safety belt. Passengers must still attach their safety belts to ensure optimal protection.

-   The driver's seat must always be correctly adjusted to the driver's body size.

-   In vehicles with co-driver airbag, the installation of a child safety seat on the passenger seat is not permitted.

-   Sales of airbag components to third parties is not permitted.
