Rubber weatherstrip, sash window pane in the front door replace, Model 53 B > < Folding hood damping mat, replace, Model 53-B

 

Folding Hood, Replace - Model 53-B  

Object Number: 616201  Size: DEFAULT  Important!   

Replace folding hood only when damaged, not just to eliminate any wind noise or water ingress.  

Object Number: 616191  Size: DEFAULT  Remove, Disconnect   

Cover strip tensioner rail - see operation "Cover strip tensioner rail, remove and install or replace - Model 53-B", rear screen - see operation "Rear screen, remove and install or replace - Model 53-B".  

Mark installation position.

Upper rear end panel, partially - 4 clips (1), rear screen frame struts (3), inner covering retainer strip (2).

Object Number: 616191  Size: DEFAULT  Remove, Disconnect   

External covering tension cable - see operation "External covering tension cable, remove and install or replace".  

Velcro,  

cable (1).

Tension belts right and left from quarter panel (arrow).

In vehicles with manually operated folding hoods (1) - gas struts - see operation "Gas strut folding hood, replace - Model 53-B".  

Vehicles with electrically operated folding hood (2) - detach hydraulic cylinder at top, retract hydraulic cylinder.  

Object Number: 616201  Size: DEFAULT  Important!   

Right and left hydraulic cylinders retract and extend simultaneously, protect neighbouring parts.

Object Number: 616191  Size: DEFAULT  Remove, Disconnect   

Fastening bolts (1) for folding hood - 3 bolts on each side; release folding hood at front. Folding hood - 2nd mechanic.  

Object Number: 616192  Size: DEFAULT  Install, Connect   

Position folding hood (do not lock). Screw in fastening bolts (1) loosely - 3 bolts on each side, folding hood in marked position.  

Object Number: 616199  Size: DEFAULT  Tighten (Torque)   

Folding hood to rear quarter panel - 30 ± 5 Nm/22 ± 4 lbf. ft.

Right and left tensioning straps to rear quarter panel.  

Object Number: 2387125  Size: DEFAULT

Vehicles with manually actuated folding hood (1) - gas struts.  

Vehicles with electrically operated folding hood (2) - extend hydraulic cylinder, attach hydraulic cylinder at top.  

Object Number: 616201  Size: DEFAULT  Important!   

Right and left hydraulic cylinders retract and extend simultaneously, protect neighbouring parts.

Insert cable (1). Velcro.

Place external covering tension cable in tensioner rail. Fix with attached fixing pieces.  

Rear screen frame strut.

Align outer covering.  

Distance (1) from folding hood seam welded seam in rear quarter panel.  

Distance (1) must be the same on right and left.

External covering tension cable.  

Remove transport safety catches from latch handles. Lock folding hood at front.  

Object Number: 616196  Size: DEFAULT  Inspect   

Check that outer covering is centred and does not cast wrinkles.

Punch out side straps - 4 holes (5) per side. The reference points are the fastening holes in the cover strip tensioner rail and retaining plate (1).  

Object Number: 616201  Size: DEFAULT  Important!   

Retaining plate in outer covering - long end towards rear.  

Bracing groove beading strip.  

Adjust folding hood - see operation "Folding hood, adjust - Model 53-B". rear screen.  

Upper rear end panel shelf, partially - 4 clips (4). Tighten holder frame rear screen (3). Internal cover (2) retaining strip.  

Install rear quarter panel inner panelling on right/left.
