As of MY '95, the Astra-F is equipped with gas shock absorbers.

The use of gas shock absorbers changes the vehicle trim height slightly relative to vehicles with corresponding fluid shock absorbers. Therefore, depending on the different axle loads, springs with modified spring rates are used.

Owing to differences in spring matching, gas shock absorbers and oil-pressure shock absorbers are currently not exchangeable - see Service microfiches which are being updated over brief periods of time.
