Checking and Adjusting Operations  

Examination of undercarriage  

Before examining the undercarriage the following points are to be observed :  

 

-  The specified disc centre wheels and tyre sizes are being used.  

-  The disc centre wheels and wheel bearing units are in a trouble free condition.  

-  Tread on all tyres uniform and in good condition.  

-  The regulation type air pressures are the same on the left and right of the axle - For the levels consult the Operating Instructions for the vehicle or the brochure "Inspection system" or "Inspection system/ Service plan" relative to the model year.  

-  No visible damage to the undercarriage (no play in the track rod and ball joint, undercarriage suspension).  

-  Manufacturer's regulations and instructions for the undercarriage examination system.  
 

 

The following points are to be carried out before the examination of the undercarriage :  

 

-  Half fill the fuel tank.  

-  Prepare vehicle for measurement.  

-  Load both front seats with 70 kg.  

-  Bring the steering wheel into the drive straight on position.  

-  Press the vehicle down on its springs several times, so that the undercarriage takes up its starting point.

Set up the "Actual Value" with the electronic undercarriage measuring system, for the "Required Value" - see "Technical Data - Undercarriage setting values" in Group "E". The User Instructions and Regulations of the manufacturer of the undercarriage examination system are to be observed. Print out the vehicle and undercarriage data.
