Checking

Features Specific to this System

The ABS-2E/-2EH system is equipped with self-diagnosis. That means:

If the ABS-2E/-2EH control unit recognizes a fault in the system, it is stored after a certain amount of time. If any trouble codes are stored, the telltale in the instrument is switched on and the anti-lock brake system is switched off.

Only the conventional brake system is still capable of functioning.

Note:                  If the ABS-2E/-2EH control unit is in diagnostic mode (i.e. TECH 1 is connected and anti-lock brake system selected), the control unit cannot recognize any faults that may crop up during diagnosis, and the ABS is not capable of functioning.

Important:           Trouble codes can only be deleted by using TECH 1 or by switching the ignition off and on at least 20 times. After completion of diagnosis with TECH 1, the ignition must be switched off at least once. Reinstall closure cap on the diagnostic plug and diagnostic plug on the base.
