Explanation of Modes (Checking with TECH 1)
The explanation of modes dealt with in this section refer only to checking with TECH 1. There is a more detailed description in the TECH 1 Operating Instructions.
Mode F0:DATA LIST
The actual values of all sensors and signals necessary for the functioning of the system can be called up via F0:DATA LIST. The actual values displayed must then be compared with the nominal values listed in these Checking Procedures. In this way, a clear fault diagnosis can be made.
Mode F1:NOT USED
Mode F2:TROUBLE CODE
The F2 mode gives a display of all stored trouble code numbers. The fault is then defined more precisely.
Mode F3:SNAPSHOT
In mode F3, various data parameters are measured, not permanently but rather at a defined trigger point, and indicated via the TECH 1 display. The trigger points can be set depending on the measurement frequency or depending on certain events (e.g. faults, storage of trouble codes etc.). The data parameters should always be measured using the snapshot function, but can also be determined in the F0:DATA LIST mode.
The procedure for starting and carrying out the snapshot function is described in the TECH 1 OPEL/VAUXHALL Operating Instructions.
Mode F4:CLEAR CODES
Before trouble codes are deleted using TECH 1, confirmation is requested. After this, the trouble codes are deleted irrevocably.
Mode F5:ACTUATOR TEST
The Actuator Test allows various individual components, e.g. the ETC telltale, to be checked. The Actuator Test provides concrete statements about the function capability of individual components and is therefore a valuable support for the F0:DATA LIST.
Important: Checking
must not be aborted. TECH 1 must not be removed before the test is completed.
